Frequent Asked Questions
How do I get started?
We offer a complimentary 30-minute private dance lesson/consultation for new students of Concierge Ballroom. This first lesson allows you and your instructor to meet and for us to create a custom dance plan for each student.
Do I need a partner?
No! We have all sorts of students: couples, singles, friends. If you don’t have partner, you’ll get to dance with your teacher!
How long are dance lessons?
Private and group lessons are 1 hour long. Dance parties are usually 1.5 hours long, but are extended for special occasions.
What do I wear to my dance lesson?
Whatever feels comfortable! We do recommend that you wear shoes that are easy to swivel in, so generally sneakers, flip flops, and wedges are not ideal. Most longer term dancers purchase dance shoes. If you need a recommendation of where to buy them, please let us know
How often should I come in?
Learning how to dance is like learning any new skill, the more often you do it, the better and more natural you will feel. While we would love to see you every day, we recommend that you come in at least once a week, especially at the beginning stages.
What is the best way to get to the studio?
We are located only 1 block from the 8th Street Station that services the Broad Street Line, the Market Frankford Line, and PATCO. If you prefer to drive, we have a number of parking garages, parking lots, and street parking available. Many of the garages and lots in the area have special discounts after 5PM and on the weekends that offer parking for a flat rate between $7-10.
